1. Purpose
This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") describes how you may and may not use AttaBoy. It supplements our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. Violations may result in suspension of sync, account access, or other remedies available to us.
2. Lawful recording and consent
AttaBoy can transcribe your voice and, when you enable it, audio from calls or system output. You are solely responsible for complying with all applicable laws about recording conversations, including wiretap, eavesdropping, and consent rules in your country, state, or workplace.
In many jurisdictions, recording a call or meeting requires consent from all parties. Before recording others, obtain any required permission and inform participants that the conversation is being captured and transcribed.
AttaBoy provides tools to detect active calls and prompt you to record; it does not verify consent on your behalf and is not a substitute for legal advice.
3. Permitted use
You may use AttaBoy to:
- Capture and organize your own ideas, meetings, and notes
- Record conversations where you have the legal right and required consent
- Export or share your content when you have the right to do so
- Use optional AI features with API keys you are authorized to use
- Sync your data across devices you own or control
4. Prohibited use
You may not use AttaBoy to:
- Record, transcribe, or surveil individuals without their knowledge or where prohibited by law
- Harass, threaten, defame, or discriminate against others using content created or stored in the app
- Store or distribute illegal content, including content that infringes intellectual property or privacy rights
- Attempt to access another user's synced account, notes, or API keys
- Abuse authentication (for example, spamming sign-in codes or creating accounts to disrupt the service)
- Reverse engineer, interfere with, or circumvent security of AttaBoy or connected services except where law expressly permits
- Use the app in high-risk environments where failure could cause death, personal injury, or environmental damage (for example, operating critical infrastructure or emergency services)
5. AI and third-party services
When you send note content to AI providers via your own API keys, you must comply with those providers' acceptable use rules. Do not submit sensitive personal data about others unless you have a lawful basis and the provider's terms allow it.
You are responsible for reviewing AI-generated output before acting on it or sharing it externally.
6. Workplace and confidential information
If you use AttaBoy for work, you must follow your employer's policies on recording, confidential information, and use of external AI services. Do not upload trade secrets or regulated data (such as health or financial records of others) unless your organization permits it and you have appropriate safeguards.
7. Enforcement
We may investigate suspected violations and cooperate with law enforcement when required. We may suspend or terminate sync or account features, block access from certain devices, or take other action to protect users and the service.
8. Reporting
To report abuse or a policy concern, email hey@attaboy.app with a description of the issue and relevant details.
9. Changes
We may update this AUP at attaboy.app/acceptable-use. Continued use of AttaBoy after updates constitutes acceptance.
